Rockets G Tracy McGrady will make season debut Tuesday
HOUSTON — Tracy McGrady will make his season debut against Detroit, about nine months after undergoing microfracture surgery on his left knee.
Houston coach Rick Adelman announced the decision to play McGrady about an hour before the game Tuesday night. He says McGrady will play about seven minutes, all in the first half.
The seven-time all-star hasn't played since Feb. 9. He underwent the risky surgery Feb. 24 and spent his summer in Chicago rehabbing with Tim Grover, a trainer who previously worked with Michael Jordan.
