Qualification of Egypt and Nigeria highlighted in sports press

The qualification of Egypt for the semis after beating 3-1 Cameroon, and the 5-4 penalty victory of Nigeria over Zambia are this Tuesday’s (26/01) highlights in the Angolan and international press about the Orange Africa Cup of Nations – Angola 2010.


Regarding the Pharaohs and Super Eagles qualification, the Jornal de Angola (JA) writes in its cover: "Egypt and Nigeria go through”.
In its issue of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations- Angola 2010, the main daily paper of the country (JA) stands out other titles on the victory of Egypt over Cameroon as: “Egypt beats Cameroon and faces Algeria in the semi-finals” and “Hassan tamed the Indomitable Lions”.

About the Angolan team, the Jornal de Angola writes: “Palancas Negras awarded” and “Mantorras thinks of leaving the national team”.

The Portuguese newspaper “A Bola” writes: “Nigeria withdraws Zambia of Cup on penalties shootout” and “Egypt reaches semi-finals”.

Still in Portugal, the Record highlights: “Enyeama qualifies Nigeria for Semis”, relatively to the good performance of the Nigerian goalkeeper who also converted the decisive penalty, and which assured the Super Eagles’ qualification for the semi-finals.

The sports newspaper Record also writes “Hassan’s crazy day on the Egyptian victory”, stressing out the performance of the Pharaohs’ captain, who scored three goals in the match against the Indomitable Lions, including an own goal.

In its webpage about the Orange Africa Cup of Nations-Angola 2010, the Spanish newspaper AS writes in its online issue: “Enyema qualifies Nigeria on penalty shootout”, relatively to the Super Eagles qualification.

In its internet webpage the AS also writes: “Hassan and the referee eliminate the Cameroonians of the Cup”, concerning the goals of the Egyptian captain and the bad refereeing of the South African Damon Jerome.

Still in that Mediterranean country, in its website dedicated to the Orange Africa Cup of Nations- Angola 2010, the sports daily “Marca” highlights the statements of the Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto´o, which according to him, the Indomitable Lions played well, and for that reason, they shouldn’t have been defeated in the hands of Egypt.
